Jenni & Greg’s Wedding at Moulin Events

This wedding was phenomenal – just really, truly, wonderfully lovely and blissfully happy. Jenni is a timeless beauty, and her dress was so dreamy and delicate with its sweetheart neckline and lace straps. To make it even better, the lace straps on her dress were created from her mother’s wedding veil. Jenni and Greg’s wedding was an awesome combination of soft and delicate details and industrial aesthetics. Jenni and Greg incorporated blush pink and charcoal gray with dark metal lanterns, milk glass, and peonies. Walter Knoll did an amazing job on the flowers, and their Cakery cake was stunning. All their details fit together perfectly, and their reception, at the beautiful and loft-esque Moulin Events, was simply gorgeous (in addition to being an awesome party). Andy and I had a great time photographing this awesome couple, and we loved every bit of this gorgeous wedding. Congratulations, Jenni and Greg!

Erin & Mikko’s Avant-garde Engagement Shoot

Erin and Mikko are an incredibly talented creative duo based in NYC with an out of this world style. The two work together as a creative team (Mikko as a cinematographer, and Erin as a producer) at No Frames Productions (check out their work here!).  When it came to their engagement photos, they wanted something striking and atypical, Mad Men-esque elegance with a touch of cinematic drama. We absolutely loved photographing these two; in addition to being awesome creative minds, they are completely charming and personable. Very excited for their November wedding!

Random tidbit: These two met in Florence, Italy – as did Andy and I!

Jennifer & Steve’s Chandler Hill Vineyard Wedding

Chandler Hill Vineyard. Beautiful weather. Amazing couple. Gorgeous handmade details. Epic sunset.  Without stretching your imagination, you can probably see why this wedding is one of my favorites. First, Chandler Hill is one of my favorite venues. The vines and rolling hills remind me of my home state of Virginia, and it’s such an abrupt change from photographing in St. Louis city. Jennifer and Steve are truly lovely people, and from our first meeting with them, we have been so looking forward to this wedding. The day didn’t have a very promising start; a steady rain is not at all what you want to see a few hours before an outdoor ceremony. But Jennifer and Steve were in luck – the skies cleared, the deck dried off, and the temperature was mild (oh, St. Louis, how I loathe your 100+ degree weather). It was the perfect setting, beautifully accented by Jenn’s carefully crafted decor.

Throughout the day, it was clear how dearly loved Jenn and Steve are by their family and friends, and Jenn and Steve incorporated their nearest and dearest in every aspect of the day. Jenn’s sister pinned on a locket with a photo of their mother to her dress. Steve’s brother-in-law conducted their ceremony, and the toasts were heartfelt and poignant (I’ll just say that there weren’t many dry eyes left by the end). We were so happy to see these two get married on such a beautiful day. Here are some of our favorite photos:

Erica & Stephen’s Wedding at Graham Chapel – Wash U

May 29, 2013

Erica and Stephen have an epic love story, the sort that crosses thousands of miles and hinges on happenstance. Two weeks before Erica was moving to New York, she and Stephen met one night, at a bar where neither of them had planned to be. Erica moved to New York as planned, and soon after, Stephen made the move as well. After spending  a few years in New York, Erica and Stephen moved back to St. Louis, where they tied the knot on May 11, 2013.

Their wedding was beautiful – perfect weather, joyful family and friends, and most importantly, two people who were absolutely pumped to get married. Erica made an absolutely beautiful bride. Her dress and shoes were absolutely divine, and she practically glowed all day. It helps that she and Stephen are all-around awesome people. So genuine, interesting, and likeable.  One of my favorite moments of this wedding – during Stephen’s brother’s toast at the reception, he recounted the story of the very first time Stephen had told him about Erica…he said that he knew then that he would someday tell that story at their wedding. How awesome is that?

Congratulations, Erica and Stephen! Loved being a part of your wedding.

Melissa & Eliot’s Engagement at Central Library and Union Station

For their St. Louis engagement photos, Melissa and Eliot envisioned something classic and elegant., a little bit city-chic Kate Spade and a lot of black/white/gold. Our two locations were a perfect fit. Union Station and the recently renovated Central Library downtown gave us exactly the elegant, gilded background Melissa had in mind. After seeing what an awesome job Melissa and Eliot did incorporating their style into their engagement session, I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding!
